2010 Top 10
New Year's Resolution Tips
- Do yoga: yoga opens up your energy channels and improves mental and physical awareness.
- Meditate: meditation helps us realize our goals, slows doen our thoughts, and helps us stay on track.
- Be positive!
- Don't try to change everything at once.
- When writing down your goals, put some verbs into your sentences: how do you plan on implementing these changes?
- Ensure that your goals are measurable so that you can measure how well you are doing and revaluate if need be.
- Focus your energy into the present moment: the only place you can effect change is in the present.
- Be realistic: if you currently do yoga once a week, making a resolution to do yoga every day may be a bit much, and you may get discouraged.
- Stop making excuses: there will always be excuses why you should not do something. Defend your goals and come up with reasons why you SHOULD!
- Don’t expect the change to be overnight: quiet often we have spent our lives creating these bad habits and patterns, so naturally it will take some time to undo them.
Yoga Tips & Newsletters
- Breathe! Breathing is more important than going deeper into the pose. If you are having trouble slowing down your breathing, focus on the exhale. When you slow down and lengthen your exhale your inhales will not be so hurried, and you will calm down. Our breath is a very valuable tool for staying calm and relaxed.

Yoga Tips for Meditation
- Make time! Even if it is only 3 minutes per day. It is more important to do it regularly. Every time you stop and say I should have meditated today, stop what you are doing and just a take a few moments to clear your thoughts and focus on your breath or maybe some relaxing music. When we live in the present, we do more and procrastinate less.
